Abstract

1491987 Laminates SANYO SHOKAI Ltd 1 Sept 1975 36003/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division B2] In an example, a polyester plain-weave fabric useful for a raincoat material is hot melt sealed to an interliner fabric with a base fabric of plain weave cotton which has on one surface a plurality of areas to which a hot melt synthetic resin adhesive has been applied and which has been impregnated, after application of the adhesive, with a water repellent agent which is melt immiscible with the hot melt adhesive and which is present throughout the base fabric but does not cover entirely the outer surface of areas of the hot melt adhesive. Suitable hot melt adhesives include polyamides, ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers and vinyl chloride resins. Such adhesives may be applied as straight line stripes, wavy stripes, dots or annular patterns. The interliner base fabric may be knitted, woven or non-woven fabric of natural, regenerated or synthetic materials. Suitable water repellent agents include fluorine containing resins, organosilicon resins, triazine water repellent agents, higher fatty acid-chromic chloride complexes, higher fatty acid-non-pyridinium water repellent agents and higher fatty acid-pyridinium water repellent agents.
