Abstract

1491672 Centrifugal particle separator HOPKINS CATERING EQUIPMENT Ltd 25 Oct 1974 [7 Sept 1973] 42186/73 Headings BIT and B2P A gas stream containing solid and liquid particles is cleansed by imparting a rotation to it whereby particles are thrown against a perforated cylindrical surface and pass through or drain down it and are removed. The gas stream (e.g. from a fish frying range) is driven by a fan (2) (Fig. 1 not shown) through a duct 6 containing a vaned static impeller 15 the stream is forced to rotate and particles pass through or are trapped on screen 17 from which they drain through separated particle outlet 19 set in a sloping annulus 13.
