Abstract
1491639 #-Peltatin-A derivative AKADEMIE DER WISSENSCHAFTEN DER DDR 18 March 1976 [14 April 1975] 10909/76 Heading C2C The novel compound, #-peltatin-A O-α-L- arabinofuranoside, having the Formula I is prepared by reacting #-peltatin-A with a tri-O-acyl-α-L-arabinofuranosyl halide in freshly distilled, anhydrous acetonitrile, with the addition of dry mercuric cyanide, and stirred for about 60 hours at 15‹ to 25‹ C. to give a #-peltatin-A O-α-L-arabinofuranoside triacylate, which is then deacylated. The deacylation is effected by heating under reflux for 15 to 35 hours in a mixture of 5 parts of anhydrous methanol with 1 part of an inert solvent, with the addition of an anhydrous zinc salt. The novel compound is used as a transport form of the cytostatic compound #-peltatin-A.
