Abstract

1491515 Screw heads YAMAMOTO BYORA CO Ltd 22 Oct 1974 [29 Oct 1973] 45743/74 Heading F2H [Also in Division B3] A screw head 12 has a recess 11 with a plurality of ribs 14 and grooves 15. The outer portion of each groove lies on a circle 17 with centre O and the cross-section of each rib is an arc of a circle 16 whose centre lies on or within the periphery of the circle 17. Preferably the centre of the circle 16 lies outside the common chord of the two circles 16, 17. The ribs are tapered with respect to the axis of the recess, the semi-angle α being between 1 and 10 degrees. A screwdriver 18 has grooves 19 and lobes 20 for engaging with the screw-head recess and is tapered with an angle # smaller than α.
