Abstract

1489585 Portable breathing apparatus P GUICHARD 23 Oct 1974 [24 Oct 1973 28 Dec 1973] 45796/74 Addition to 1441958 Heading A5T In a breathing apparatus according' to Specification 1441958 there is disposed in a container C" an aerosol 3', an atomiser 3" or oxygen storage vessel (not shown), and a filter cartridge 7' so that air is passed through the cartridge and receives balsamic or medical products from the aerosol or atomiser. A piece of magnetised rubber 6' and an impregnatable felt pad may be disposed in the path of the air from the filter. The aerosol 3' and atomiser 3" have respective valve actuators 26 and 52 operated by relative movement of respective bodies 22 and 22" to the actuators, the movement being by respective pushbuttons 4' and 4" which either are pressed to open the valve and pressed again to close it or are pressed once and the valve remains open for a predetermined period of time. The container C" has a body part and a hinged cover, Fig. 2 (not shown), and air is drawn in to the filter through apertures in the cover, a seal being provided between the cover and the filter so that no air by-passes the filter. The atomiser 3" may be replaced by the oxvgen storage vessel containing pure medical oxygen under pressure.
