Abstract

1488651 Valves E GUMMER 27 Nov 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 14576/73 Heading F2V A conversion kit for a domestic water tap comprises an adaptor 20 secured over the tap spindle 2 and a knob 24 in driving engagement with the adaptor. The adaptor comprises a cylindrical part 20a surmounted by a squaresection part 20b having two undercut external recesses 28. The part 20b engages in a similar section bore (24b), Fig. 10 (not shown). A retaining button 26 has a pair of resilient lugs 27 which are a snap fit into the recesses 28. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 4, 5, 6 (not shown), an adaptor (10) of hexagonal section engages in a hexagonal recess in a knob (13), the recess having axial slots (14). A split sleeve (30), Figs. 11, 12, 13 (not shown), may be fitted around the spindle to match with the bore in the adaptor.
