Sparking-plugs having an insulator and casing of stepped outline and bore, as described in the parent Specification, have the casing formed in two portions, the inner portion, which engages the engine cylinder, being screwed within the outer portion, the end of which is pressed, rolled, or welded to hold the two portions together. The insertion of the inner portion of the casing positions the insulation against a flange in the outer portion of the casing. In a modification, the tw,) portions of the casing are formed so as to interlock, the insulator being inserted from the outer end of the plug and being retained by pressing over an internal flange in the outer portion of the casing.
