Sparking-plugs.-The inner end of the insulator is enlarged so as to overlap the flange 7 at the end' of the casing, and partly close the chamber 9 to the hot gases. The insulator end may be spherical or conical, and the edge of the enlargement may be rounded or sharp, leaving a ledge 14 within the chamber 9.
