1488245 Sprayed concrete T F RYAN 23 Sept 1974 [27 June 1973] 30490/73 Heading E1W [Also in Division D1] A structure, e.g. a boat, a girder, a bridge beam or a tank is formed by spraying concrete by means of an air stream onto a reinforcement former comprising three or more meshes 16 with their mesh openings staggered in relation to each other and each having a mesh size larger than the mean size of the aggregate and backed by a mesh screen 17 having mesh openings of smaller size than the mean size of the aggregate. The courser meshes may be staggered in orthogonal directions in the mesh plane and further coarse meshes 18 may be placed behind the finer mesh 17 and covered by concrete in a second application. The meshes may be woven metal wire, glass fibre or plastics in woven or expanded form.
