Abstract

1487845 Moulding troughs for concrete floors ATEX BUILDING PRODUCTS Ltd 6 June 1975 [7 March 1974] 10273/74 Heading E1S A moulding trough, for use in casting a concrete floor or ceiling having depending ribs, is of unitary form and of rectangular shape in plan view, with its length at least twice as great as its breadth, and has closed ends and outwardly flared peripheral edges, and is made of synthetic plastics material, with a steel reinforcing strip embedded in each of the longitudinal outwardly flared edges and extending the full length thereof. The reinforcing strips may be flat, or of angle or channel section. The crown of the trough may have its end portions stepped downwardly, so that in use, with the troughs aligned in rows, a capping sleeve C may be placed over end portions of two adjacent troughs A and B. The capping sleeves are made sufficiently long to allow adjustment of the spacing between adjacent troughs up to around 20% of the length of one trough, whilst still covering the gap.
