1487481 Toy construction element GERATEBAU ALBIN GRUNZIG & CO 2 Jan 1975 [5 Jan 1974] 105/75 Heading A6M and A6S [Also in Division F2] A toy construction element has at least three round openings spaced at equal angles apart and formed by the ends of tubular extensions which taper towards the openings and which merge one into the other with curved surfaces at their ends remote from the openings. The embodiment shown in Fig. 1 comprises four tetrahedrally arranged openings 1-4 at the end of tapered tubular extentions 6-9, which merge into concave surfaces 10-12 provided with apertures 13, 14 which may be larger than openings 1-4. A number of elements may be connected to form structures on and through which children may climb and crawl, and may connect with other units e.g. tubular portion (68) (Fig. 6 not shown) or a slide (Fig. 8, not shown). The units may be connected together, in various ways, namely by joining outwardly extending flanges disposed on the rims of the openings, by projecting pins 36-40 and recesses 30-34 on rims of openings engaging with corresponding recesses and pins on other elements (Fig. 3), by providing recesses 59, 60 in rims of openings into which pins 63 are located (Fig. 5), or by a bushing (87) inserted into or provided on the outside of the tubular extensions (88-89) (Fig. 7, not shown). Pins 36-40 and 63 are held in the recesses by means of cotter pins or screws 64, 65. The element is made of plastics material and may be integral or composed of parts joined, e.g. along lines 101-5 (Fig. 1).
