Abstract

956,263. Toys. R. WASER. Sept. 29, 1961 [Sept. 29, 1960], No. 35211/61. Heading A6S. A toy track without rails comprises a plurality of upwardly open elongated trough-shaped elements arranged in endwise abutting relationship and at least one of which is laterally curved while others are straight, the elements having an arcuate cross-sectioned shape and being detachably connected together at their ends by means permitting them to be angularly adjustable about the longitudinal track axis. The track comprises straight and curved trough-shaped elements 11, 12 joined together by mortise and tenon connections. The elements may be joined by pegs engaging in slots, by interengaging flanges on the ends, or by end flanges secured by a clamping member. The track elements may have extensions secured to the sides so that a vehicle may negotiate curves at speed. The track may have an annular cross-section or a cross-section of any other shape. The track may be supported by telescopic struts which have bent-over ends which engage in slotted apertures in an end flange. The elements which may be made of plastics may be reinforced.
