1486541 End face seals GOETZEWERKE FRIEDRICH GOETZE AG 6 Feb 1975 [6 Feb 1974] 5140/75 Heading F2B In an end face seal, e.g. for a pump rotor (22), counter-ring 11 is retained by a snap engagement with a rim 12 around the mouth of an elastomeric housing 1. The housing may engage with the edge 13 of the ring itself on with a flange (16, Fig. 2, not shown) on a collar (15), (20, Fig. 3, not shown) mounted on the counter-ring (14, 19). Grooves 12a and 13a are preferably provided to circulate the sealed fluid and promote cooling.
