Abstract

1485845 Roller skates K H ROTHMAYER and A DASSLER (Latter) [trading as ADIDAS SPORTSCHUHFABRIKEN ADIDASSLER KG] 13 Nov 1974 49173/74 Heading A6D A roller skate comprises a sole 2, e.g. of hard plastics, in or on which there is at least one longitudinal groove 5 enabling sliding fitment of a carrier plate 6' from which depends a generally barrel shaped roller pair 3 of rubber-like plastics or porous material, the individual rollers being disposed on opposite sides of a plane perpendicular to the lower surface of the sole 2 and passing through the longitudinal axis of said at least one groove 5. The said at least one groove 5 is preferably T-shaped or dovetail in section and moulded in the sole, e.g. by use of a rail that subsequently may form the carrier plate. Alternatively a metal plate may be screwed to or moulded in the sole. The carrier plate 6 may be plate construction or a casting and corresponds in section to the groove 5. Nuts 9 and bolts 8 passing through holes in the sole 2 and carrier plate 6', allow fixing of the latter in different positions; the sole 2 may have moulded-in screw-threaded inserts for bolts to secure the carrier plate 6'.
