1485400 Measuring the diameter of moving material TRUTZSCHLER & CO 27 Nov 1974 [27 Nov 19731 51344/74 Heading G1M Fibrous material is fed by rollers Fig. 1 (not shown), through a funnel 6, Fig. 3, mounting a spring pressed or otherwise urged lever 10 pivoted at 9 to press a part 11 on the material. If the material varies in diameter the lever 10 pivots and produces a control signal. In a modification the lever 10 may be fixed whilst the funnel pivots. In Fig. 4 (not shown), the lever 10 is replaced by a spring finger fixed to the funnel and having a lobe extending into the narrow exit. In Fig. 5 (not shown), the funnel is provided with a spring pressed vertically movable pusher which radially enters into a rectangular sectioned funnel exit (12).
