1484079 Compasses KOVOPOL NARODNI PODNIK 23 May 1975 22647/75 Heading B6P [Also in Division E2] Each of the legs 1 of a pair of compasses has at least one conical bearing area, centred on its pivot axis 5, and a co-operating resilient pad or clip 3, shaped to match the bearing area and either self-lubricating or provided with a self-lubricating insert 2. Preferably the legs are pivoted about separate screws through shackle 4, have two opposed conical areas each and are linked by toothed quadrants. The conical areas may be either recesses in the legs or projections from them and the pads or clip 3 may be a single U-shape or be made up of two or four flat pieces of material.
