Abstract
1483642 Track circuits with cab signalling GENERAL SIGNAL CORP 31 July 1974 [7 Sept 1973] 33803/74 Heading B7N In a track circuit and cab signalling arrangement at a cross-over between main lines 15 and 16 the use of A.C. track circuits without insulating joints within the arrangement permits the use of the rails of the main line for cab signalling and traction current return. The arrangement which is within the insulating joints 17, 17<SP>1</SP> and 18, 18<SP>1</SP> online 15 and within joints 19, 19<SP>1</SP> and 20, 20<SP>1</SP> on line 16, includes, associated with line 15, a pair of track circuits having a common bond and receiver 48 responsive to signals at one frequency injected into the first circuit via coil 40 and shorting bar 50 and signals at a second frequency injected into the second circuit via coil 43 and shorting bar 52. These circuits are also provided with cab signalling current using coils 41, 42. A similar arrangement is provided for line 16 and the cross over lines 21, 22 are formed as a single track circuit insulated by joints from the main lines and are provided with track side loops with terminals 1B and 3R for cab signalling purposes. The shorting bars 50-53 are coupled to cross bonds 54-57 to distribute the return traction current evenly between the main line rails.
