Abstract

1483351 Dyeing process ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 13 Aug 1974 35574/74 Addition to 1406803 Heading D1B Acrylic or basic dyeable polyamide or polyester fibres in admixture with polyester, polyamide, keratinous, acid-dyeable acrylic or cellulosic fibres are dyed with a basic or modified basic dye in presence of a compound of the general formula where R is a linear or branched chain optionally substituted C 3 -C 30 alkyl group or an optionally substituted cycloaliphatic group, n is 0-3, m is 1-3 and when n is 0 R may be optionally substituted phenyl. The preferred additive is cyclohexyloxypropionitrile. The invention further comprises reserve dyeing agents comprising a compound of the above general formula and as an emulsifying agent a polyethoxylated fatty acid or a polyoxyethylene/ polyoxypropylene block copolymer. The agent is preferably added to the dyebath in solution in an organic solvent, e.g. isopropanol.
