Abstract

1483149 Opening cans CONTINENTAL GROUP Inc 22 April 1975 [25 April 1974] 16606/75 Heading B8D An "easy-opening" can end has a ring 15a secured to the can end by securing lugs 26, 26<SP>1</SP>, the end being opened by pressure on the ring whereby cutting points 54, 54<SP>1</SP>, 55 pierce a score in the end, bend down a tab 14 about a point 13 and the ring is retained in the opening by a nib 19. In another embodiment, Fig. 1 (not shown) both securing lugs extend outwardly of the ring.
