1482881 Discharging hoppers; metering fluent material AMAZONEN-WERKE H DREYER 8 July 1975 [8 July 1974] 28743/75 Headings B8S and B8N Granular material which is contained in a bin 2 passes through outlet openings 3 (only one shown) therein and then passes along base plates 6 and adjustable plates 8 on to a gate 12 from whose outer edge 28 the material is conveyed by rotating wheels 10 into hoppers 21 (only one shown) connected to respective pipes 19 through which the material is conveyed away pneumatically. The gate 12 is maintained in its full-line position shown by a tension spring 14. If it is necessary to empty the bin 2 rapidly a lever 26 is rotated downwardly to position 26<SP>1</SP> so that the gate 12 then assumes the position 12<SP>1</SP> and the material then flows between the plates 8 and gate 12 into collecting vessels 24 (only one shown). When gate 12 is in its full-line position and it is required to determine the amount of material fed, slide plates 23 are moved to lever the hoppers 21 so that the material flows into the collecting vessels 24.
