Abstract

1481476 Electrophonic musical instruments NIPPON GAKKI SEIZO KK 2 Jan 1975 [11 Jan 1974] 291/75 Heading G5J The computer organ of Specification 1,442,420 in which Fourier components of two slightly out of tune waveforms are calculated and fed separately to an accummulator through a harmonic coefficient sealer is modified to calculate combined Fourier components first which are then fed to the harmonic coefficient scalar. The instrument as described differs from that of Specifiction 1,442,420 in that in addition to being used to calculate sin nqR/w, the value qR on line 20 is fed to a divider by k 53 to produce a valuo qR/k from which, when added to qR, sin #n/w[qR + (qR/k)] is calculated. The two sin values are added at 38 to form the combined Fourier component k, which may be different for different notes and is preferably a power of 2 so that divider 53 can be a shift register. Alternatively k may be varied periodically by an oscillator. Sinusoid tables 31 and 59 may be replaced by a single time-shared unit. A further channel with a different frequency offset k<SP>1</SP> may be provided to give a trio effect.
