Abstract

1481270 Lubricants HERCULES Inc 31 Dec 1975 53238/75 Heading C5F A lubricating oil comprises a blend of two esters: (1) an ester of pentaerythritol and a straight-chain alkanoic acid of 4 to 10 carbon atoms, and (2) an ester of trimellitic acid and an alkanol of 4 to 13 carbon atoms, in a weight ratio (2) to (1) between 1 : 10 and 1 : 1. The pentaerythritol ester may contain a minor proportion of the esters of pentaerythritol oligomers. The oil may also contain stabilizers, e.g. p, p<SP>1</SP>-dioctyldiphenylamine or phenylbetanaphthylamine.
