Abstract

In open-end spinning, piecing is made easier and failed attempts are reduced, in that, in piecing and in the elimination of thread breaks, during the piecing time (tA) the quotient of the thread rotational speed (1) and the thread draw-off speed (2) is increased in relation to the quotient of these two speeds maintained during the production time (tP). Preferably, during the piecing time (tA), the apparatus runs at a thread rotational speed reduced in relation to the production speed and at a thread draw-off speed correspondingly reduced superproportionally. <IMAGE>
