1480353 Determining tool wear electrically VYZKUMNY USTAV OBRABECICH STROJU A OBRABENI 2 Sept 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 38293/74 Heading G1N [Also in Division B3] To determine the degree of wear of a tool 1 it is brought into electrical contact with an electrode 3 in a rotating measuring element 2 whereby the length of time for which current flows from a source of electric current through the tool and through the electrode is indicative of the thickness of the tool tip and therefore of its wear.
