Abstract
1479935 Hydraulic accumulators GREER HYDRAULICS Inc 18 July 1974 [20 July 1973] 31928/74 Heading F1D An hydraulic accumulator, Fig. 1, of the type having a diaphragm 5 separating an oil chamber C from a gas chamber G, has a magnetic switch 18 outside the container 1 and magnetic means 13 which are moved into a switch operating position by the diaphragm when the volume of gas drops below a predetermined amount. The permanent magnets 13 are mounted on a stem 11 which is moved upwards when the gas level falls so that the switch 18 is operated to sound an alarm. A spring Sp may be provided to bias the magnets into an inoperative position. Fig. 2 (not shown), illustrates an embodiment in which a permanent magnet 13a is moulded into the diaphragm for movement therewith to actuate a switch mounted on top of the accumulator. The diaphragm may be replaced by a bladder or a piston.
