Abstract

1479698 Frame joints E & E KAYE Ltd and D B PLUM 28 July 1975 [28 Aug 1974] 37635/74 Heading F2M A corner joint assembly for a door frame or like frame structure utilizing hollow frame members 21, 23, which are preferably extrusions, comprises a rod 22 passed through a channel 19 formed in the interior of the frame member 21, and through an aperture in the inner web 24 of each of two adjacent frame members 23, a securing means, e.g. a spring lock washer 25, being fitted to the end of the rod within each member 23 and tightened against the web 24 to secure the assembly. Members 23 are preferably the uprights of a door frame and member 21 the top or bottom rail, the ends of the latter fitting in rebates in flanges of the uprights to locate the members relative to one another. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) the ends of the rod are threaded and engaged by nuts (27).
