Abstract

1479191 Pyridine and dihydropyridine derivatives CIBA-GEIGY AG 14 June 1974 [25 June 1973] 26518/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division C4] The compound of the formula is prepared by heating 6-amino-2-chloro - 3 - cyano - 1 - methyl - 4 - methylaminopyridinium chloride with aq. methylamine in ethanol at 180‹ C. in anautoclave. The compounds of the formulas and the thio analogue of the phenyl ether are prepared by similar but not identical methods. The dimethylaminopropylamino compound is subsequently quaternated to give the corresponding trimethylaminopropylamino compound as the methosulphate. The compound of the formula is prepared by heating cyanoacetic acid methoxypropylamide with POCl 3 . The compounds of the formulµ are prepared similarly.
