Abstract

1479011 Pneumatic tyres UNIROYAL AG 14 June 1974 [18 June 1973] 26561/74 Heading B7C A pneumatic tyre is provided with a breaker 19 which comprises a plurality of groups of parallel cord plies, the cords in each ply of one group being inclined to one side of the midcircumferential plane of the tyre, and the cords of each ply of the or each group next adjacent said one group being inclined to the opposite side of the plane. The cords of a first ply in each group form an angle of 17-25 degrees with the plane, and the cords of a second ply in each group form an angle of 60-75 degrees with the plane. As illustrated the tyre has a radial ply carcass 3 and a breaker having two groups 29, 31 each comprising two plies. The cord angles α and # lie in the range 17-25 degrees, preferably 21 degrees and the cord angles # and X lie in the range 60-75 degrees, preferably 65 degrees. The cords may be of steel.
