Abstract

1332208 Belted tyre CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE AG 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 26233/71 Heading B7C A tyre comprises an annular substantially inextensible reinforcing belt consisting of a plurality of plies of rubberized parallel cords, filaments, strips or wires, only one 7 of which extends substantially across the full width of the belt, there being at least two axially spaced apart annular strip plies 8, 9 located radially inwardly of ply 7 and a further strip ply 10, for each two adjacent plies 8, 9, disposed radially outwardly of ply 7 and being wider than the spacing between said adjacent plies so as to overlap adjacent edges thereof, e.g. by about 10 mm. In the embodiment illustrated, plies 8, 9 are disposed at the edges of ply 7 and are folded about said edges. In another embodiment three radially inwardly disposed strips are provided together with two radially outer strips, the axially outermost of the inwardly disposed strips not being folded about the edges of ply 7.
