Abstract

1478956 Casting concrete walls T GUDMUNDSEN 19 Aug 1974 53644/72 Heading E1S A mobile machine for continuously extruding a concrete wall comprises a carrier C attached to a crank and slotted lever guide mechanism D which allows continuous movement along sides and around corners of a structure, concrete being mixed in a mixer 10, passed along a tube 13 and extruded through nozzle 16. The mixer has separate worm feeds 34, 35 for the ingredients, e.g. ballast and cement which are mixed in a chamber 10 and extruded by worm 37-41. Separate motors 5, 6 and 9 drive worms 35, 34 and 37-41 respectively. Nozzle 16 has baffles 49, vibrators 44, 45 and a cut-off knife 42 for forming window and door openings, in conjunction with a photo-cell 57. The nozzle also has means 47, 48 for feeding reinforcement into the wall, and a perforated inlet tube 32 for, e.g. a colouring agent. The carrier C is propelled by a motor 8 via wheel 7 and the nozzle is automatically rotated by chain 11 as wheel 4 rotates about its axis. The machine is said to be suitable for extruding slabs also, in conjunction with a conveyor belt and an extractor hood. The concrete mix may be 23% SiO 2 , 4.5% Al 2 O 3 , 2% Fe 2 O 3 , 65% CaO and 0.5%.
