Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce crazing of concrete, by a method wherein low-temperature liquid or gas is blown against aggregate while agitating it before mixing cement, aggregate and water or ice to reduce the milling temperature of the concrete efficiently and surely. CONSTITUTION:Metered sand 3 and ballast 4 are charged into an aggregate hopper 7 and, thereafter, are thrown into a concrete mixer 8 through a material throwing port 12a. A motor 16 is driven to drive scrapers 15, 15,... in a drum 11 so as to make circular motion in the mixer 8 and mix the sand 3 and the ballast 4. Liquefied gas or the like is injected by a control unit 29 from a tank 28 through a supplying pipe 30 and nozzles 21, 21,... directly against the sand 3 and the ballast 4 in the drum 14 from the bottom thereof to cool them instantaneously and uniformly. After moving the nozzles 21, 21,... to the outside of the drum 11, cement and water or ice are charged sequentially into the concrete mixer 8 to manufacture mixed concrete.
