1478619 Load handling cradle F BIRCH D N HOLLOWAY 8 Oct 1974 [22 Oct 1973] 49122/73 Heading B8H A load support to facilitate the handling or rods, billets, bars, blooms by a fork lift truck and for their subsequent transport by road, rail or sea utilizing ISO fittings, comprises a chanel base 1 with a wooden block 2 positioned in the channel and side supports 4 mounted at each end thereof. A load binder 7 is anchored at each end at the intersection of the base and side supports by pins 8 and a slot 9 is provided at each end of the base to cooperate with twist locks in securing the load to a lorry, railway wagon or ship. In use a number of supports, dependant on the length of the load, are used and are spaced to conform with the standard spacing of the twist locks.
