Abstract

1477705 Fungicidal composition HOECHST AG 18 July 1974 31897/74 Heading A5E A fungicidal wettable powder composition comprises a carrier material wherein a penetrant consisting of a C 6 -C 18 alkanol; liquid ester of a C 1 -C 12 monoalcohol with a C 2 -C 12 carboxylic acid, the ester having at least 8 carbon atoms and, in the case of an ester of a monocarboxylic acid at most 12 and, in the case of an ester of a dicarboxylic acid at most 32 carbon atoms; an aliphatic of aliphaticaromatic ether which is either liquid or melts below 50‹C; a straight chain or branched C 9 -C 25 paraffin with b.p. above 140‹C; liquid triglyceride; N di-(C 1 -C 4 )alkylformamide; N- (C 1-4 )alkylpyrolidone and/or a low melting point (<100‹C) salt of a natural naphthenic acid is bound by absorption on an adsorptive carrier material selected from diatomaceous earth, kieselguhr, sepiolite, bentonite, kaolin, charcoal or synthetic silicic acid, in a ratio by weight of from 1:1 to 1:10. The preferred active ingredient is 2-benzimidazole-carbamic acid methyl ester and penetrants exemplified are diisooctyl phthalate, dibutylphthalate, C 12 - C 18 n-alcohols, paraffin oil, di-n-butyl formamide, n-dodecyl benzene, N-methyl-pyrrolidone, salicylic acid and methyl ester, calcium naphthalate and lauryl glycidyl ether. Non ionic emulsifying wetting agents and dispersants, adhesives and grinding auxiliaries may also be added.
