Abstract

1477545 A monolithic drug delivery device ALZA CORP 20 May 1975 [7 June 1974] 21650/75 Heading A5B A monolithic drug delivery device comprises a solid particulate drug dispersed in a polymer matrix, the drug particles having been removed from the entire surface of the matrix to a depth of 5% of the overall thickness of the device. The removing may be carried out by washing with a liquid which is inert to the matrix, e.g. water, and may be performed at elevated temperature, e.g. an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer may be washed at 50-60‹C.
