Abstract

1477214 Cabbage harvester H BLEINROTH 23 Aug 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 37072/74 Heading A1F Cabbage heads lifted by a pair of screw feed augers 1 are transferred by auger 2 across the machine to a drum-shaped elevator 4 which has internal paddles 10 and rotates about a horizontal axis to raise the heads onto a belt 5. From the belt 5 the heads pass on to a sorting conveyor 6. for transfer to boxes or to a discharge conveyor. The elevator 4 is closed at one end by plate 11 and has a deflector 12 at the other to confine the heads. The paddles 10 can be curved or bent at their, free ends and may be made of resilient material.
