Abstract

1476275 Slide rail for a vehicle seat C ROB HAMMERSTEIN GmbH 17 April 1975 [27 June 1974] 15818/75 Heading A4J A vehicle seat slide rail comprises on each side an outer rail 1 and an inner rail 2 held against relative movement by the engagement of a horizontally extending projection 7 with one of a number of notches in a rail 3 connected to the outer rail, the projection 7 being on a lever 6 pivotally connected about a horizontal axis 11 to a bearing support 10 fixed to the inner rail, and the levers on each side of the seat being inter-connected by a U-shaped stirrup 12 pivotally connected about the axis 11 once engaged with the underside of each lever. The U-shaped stirrup is preferably made of tubular metal, with the ends of the limbs 13 of the stirrup being flattened and embraced by the levers 6 which are preferably of U-section. The two levers and the stirrup are biased towards the position in which the rails are locked by leaf-springs 8 and 17.
