Abstract

1474887 Scaffolding board bearer C EVANS & SONS Ltd 6 Aug 1974 [13 Aug 1973] 38213/73 Heading E1S A bearer for extending between ledgers L of a scaffold to support platform boards B, comprises an elongate member 1, e.g. a tube, having fixed at one end 2 a hook-like element 3, its mouth facing towards that end, and a wedge 5 for securing it to a ledger L, and adapted at the other end 6 to rest on an opposed ledger L; the hook element has an opening therethrough in which the wedge is slidably received for lengthwise movement parallel to the axis of the member 1. The hook element 3 is of box-section form, and the wedge 5 is captively mounted therein. The end 6 has a pair of lugs 7 for engaging opposite sides of the ledger L. The ends 2, 6 are flattened to rest on the ledgers.
