Abstract
1474649 Particle accelerators ATOMIC ENERGY OF CANADA Ltd 17 July 1975 [5 Nov 1974] 30029/75 Heading H1D A coupled-cavity particle accelerator 3 is energized by a klystron oscillator 2 the output cavity 5 of which is cavity coupled to the accelerator to form a part of the latter. For a travelling-wave accelerator, the cavity 5 is coupled directly to the accelerator structure. For a standing-wave accelerator, as shown, the accelerator, is divided into two sections 4 and 4<SP>1</SP>, coupled to the klystron cavity by a pair of coupling cavities 6 and 6<SP>1</SP>, respectively. The klystron and accelerator form a continuous evacuated enclosure.
