Abstract

1474390 Air intakes for gas turbine engines debris guards DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 27 Sept 1974 [27 June 1973] 30636/73 Heading F1G The invention relates to a debris guard for mounting on the intake of an engine such as a gas turbine engine, the guard being in the form of a grid of porous tubing and connected to a source of de-icing liquid which liquid is caused to leak through the porous tubing. The tubing may be of stainless steel gauze, a sintered metal or ceramic or a fibre reinforced plastics material. The tubing may be of faired section.
