Abstract

1474120 Multi layer web forming HONSHU SEISHI KK 16 July 1974 31379/74 Heading D1N A method of producing a multi layer fibrous web of short fibers (2-5 mm) and long fibers (20-50 mm) comprises feeding long fiber material to defibrating means 154 and then directing the fibers to a moving endless wire conveyor 119 below which suction is applied; feeding short fiber material, e.g. wood pulp, to a dispersing means 100 and directing the short fibers toward the conveyor where suction is again applied. A further layer of long fibers may then be applied. The defibrating means and dispersing means may be in a single unit, Fig. 1, or may be in separate units, Fig. 6. Adhesive may be applied at 132 and dried at 133. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specifications 1376356 and 1395924.
