Abstract

1473902 Furniture joints MACKENZIE KING (HOLDINGS) Ltd 14 May 1975 [17 Aug 1974] 36297/74 Heading F2M A furniture joint assembly of the kind comprising a pair of blocks 1, 2 securable, e.g. by screws passed through bores 7, 14 in the respective blocks, to respective pieces of furniture, e.g. panels, to be joined, has a skirt 3 formed on one block 1 so as to extend around three sides of the block 2 when the blocks are assembled together, and interfitting formations 16, 17 on the respective blocks so that block 2 is guided into position against block 1 in the manner of a spigot entering a socket, the blocks being then secured together by a bolt passed through a bore 9 in block 2 and a bore 5 in block 1 to engage a nut in a recess 6 on the underside of block 1. A peripheral lip 4 on the block 2 hides the gap between the block 2 and the skirt 3. The interfitting formations 16, 17 may be replaced by parts (11, 12) engaging counterbores in the bores 7 and/or 9 (Fig. 2, not shown).
