Abstract

147,375. Bartow, F. Sept. 26, 1919. Road traffic signals on vehicles; stencil luminous signals; lamp-failure warning devices.-In a warning-device for use on motor &c. vehicles having a transparency or stencil in the form of a hand, adapted to be illuminated at will by an electric lamp controlled by the driver, a metal stencil plate cut to represent a hand, is fitted between two pieces of ruby glass. This construction makes the hand invisible except when illuminated. A red tell-tale lamp controlled by the same switch as the warning-lamp is fitted in view of the driver. The warning-lamp is preferably fixed immediately above the next offside mud-guard.
