Abstract

1473419 Drying cylinders J M VOITH GmbH 30 July 1974 [1 Aug 1973] 33610/74 Heading F4G A steam heated drying cylinder 1 comprises a cylindrical shell 2 provided with circumferential grooves 3 around its internal wall. Inserts 5 are provided in the grooves, each insert abutting the base of the respective groove and extending from wall to wall thereof. The inserts are from 2 to 15 mm. in height and 0À1 to 0À5 m. between centres thereof in one groove. The shapes of the inserts are shown in Figs. 2 and 3. Suction pipes 6 extend into the grooves 3 to remove condensate 7 therefrom.
