Abstract

1471026 Film evaporator EBARA UDYLITE KK and SHINWA SANGYO KK 10 May 1974 [23 May 1973] 20874/74 Heading BIB In a film evaporator for concentrating a solution, the solution supplied through tubes 1 and 2 is distributed by perforated tubes 4 which are rotated by the action of the solution issuing therefrom, over bed 6 comprising corrugated plastics or metal plates through which the solution flows countercurrent to an upward flow of gas supplied through louvres 10. Concentrated solution is discharged through outlet 8. The perforations in the tubes 4 may vary in size. A slidable perforated tube 4' (Fig. 4) may be positioned over each tube 4 to vary the size of the discharge area of the perforations. The apparatus may include a demister 5. In Fig. 7 (not shown) the evaporator is part of an apparatus comprising an article treating tank and a plurality of wash tanks.
