1470802 Arrow nocks J F H ADAMS 10 March 1975 [9 May 1974] 20623/74 Heading A6S A nock 10 i.e. a tip for the rear of an arrow is made from resilient material, e.g. nylon, with one end 11 adapted for attachment to an arrow shaft and the other having a transverse flat-sided slot 17 whose inner end has the approximate width of a bow string diameter and near whose outer end is a narrower region, the slot sides 18, 19 tapering uniformly towards it from the inner end, e.g. at up to 3‹ included angle. The end 11 has either an internal conical socket 15 for adhesion to an arrow shaft or else it is cylindrical and adhered within the hollow end of a shaft. The socket 15 may have depressions to help adhesion; the cylindrical form may be retained by a thread formed on the inside of the shaft. The inner end of the slot 17 is curved 20 and concave 21 the concave radius being approximately that of a bow string. The external surface is tapered in three stages from the end 11, the first stage 12 being uniform, e.g. 4‹, the second 13 also being uniform but less steep and used for gripping, e.g. 2‹, and the third 14 being convex.
