Abstract

1470610 Dispensing articles HOSHIZAKI ELECTRIC CO Ltd 10 Sept 1974 39384/74 Heading A4T Articles of foodstuff in compartments 20 of a cold storage chamber 12 of a vending machine are discharged by a coin operated discharge means 26 through a conduit 18 to a heating chamber 16 provided with electronic heating means 72 and thermally insulated from the cold storage chamber 12, the articles being received by a container 52 which is then moved into a stationary casing 50 for heating of the article and is then retracted from the casing 50 to discharge the article through the outlet 74 of the vending machine. The discharge means 26 comprises a cylindrical cam 28 having a recess 30 carrying the article past a retaining spring 42 to the conduit 18. A closure flap 46 at the bottom of the conduit opens to direct the article on to the floor of the container 52. A fixed stop 70 in the casing 50 causes the article to be pushed, when the container moves into the casing, into a flap 58 in the floor of the container. This flap opens when the container 52 is retracted.
