Abstract
147,003. Junkers, H. Jan. 16, 1915, [Convention date]. Propelling.-In aircraft, automobiles, and other motor-driven vehicles, the radiator is arranged in an open-ended casing which is narrower at the ends than at the part where the radiator is situated, so that the velocity of the air-stream is reduced at the radiator and the resistance or drift due to the radiator is decreased. Fig. 5 shows a radiator 1 provided with a casing 2 which is strengthened and rounded off at the front end 4 and tapers off toward the rear end 5. The upper side of the casing may be constituted by a flat wall of the body. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the casing 2 may have its upper side formed by a depression in the body of a flying-machine as shown in Fig. 4. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
