1469594 Push-button switches SCHOELLER & CO ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK GmbH & CO 15 Oct 1974 [18 Oct 1973] 44729/74 Heading H1N A push-button switch assembly having a plurality of push-buttons 22 provided with a mutual cancellation facility and carrying movable contacts which co-operate with a printed circuit board 15 in a housing 10 has apertures in said housing provided with guide extensions 21 which receive and guide hollow push-buttons 22 and the spaces between the extensions have cross members of a lattice-like spring-loaded shift interlock member 14 inserted therein, said member 14 being provided with latching projections 16 which pass through apertures in the walls of the guide extensions 21 and co-operate with the push-buttons 22. Square-section hollow push-buttons 22 have bridging contacts (35, Figs. 4 to 9, not shown) secured on one or more lateral surfaces by means of lugs (36) which clip behind webs 33. The webs 33 bridge grooves (32, Fig. 8, not shown) for reception of portions (34) of the contacts and have inclined surfaces, as shown in Fig. 11, for co-operation with inclined surfaces on the projections 16 such that partial depression of a button 22 (as the upper button in Fig. 11, for example) urges the locking frame 14 down against the action of springs 11, 12 (Fig. 2) to release a previously latched button 22 (as the lower button in Fig. 11, for example). If a button 22 if fully depressed the appropriate projection 16 returns over the associated web 33 to hold the button down. Return springs 42 for respective buttons 22 are fitted over insulating tubular members 55 having flanges 54 which abut the printed-circuit on board 15 sealing the housing 10. The buttons have discs 49 carrying symbols, or clip-on caps (46, Fig. 7, not shown) with discs 48 inserted. Contact blades 25, 26 in a holder 24 are fitted at the base of the housing 10 for actuation by the locking frame 14.
