Abstract

1469026 Sliver guides in a drawing machine BRUNSWICK CORP 16 Sept 1974 [17 Sept 1973] 40187/74 Headings DID and DIN A unitary guide comprises two trumpet shaped apertures 37, 38 with a circular entrance and rectangular exit and halfway between them an aperture whose diameter is less than the larger dimension of said rectangular exit. The smaller aperture has a bush 41 e.g. of ceramics. The guide is employed on a drawing machine to guide a tow 55 between two slivers 50, 60 as they enter the nip of the first rollers. The tow is of conductive material e.g. metal filaments to produce an anti static final product e.g. for carpets. In Fig. 1 two tows are shown being blended with several slivers the composite sliver formed being coiled in a cam 18.
