1468167 Rotary fluid-pressure fluid-machines SIMMS GROUP RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 10 June 1974 [13 June 1973] 28064/73 Heading F1F In an actuator a rotor 16 has at least one vane 17a and portion 13 of a body 10 is furnished with at least one abutment, or "barrier", 19 having a generally triangular shape in cross-section so that it can tilt to bring one of its longitudinal edges into contact with the rotor, Fig. 3 (not shown). The or each barrier may have a concave surface between the edges next the rotor and may be made of an elastomeric material. The barrier(s) may wedge the rotor when stationary and then be made of a hard wearing relatively rigid material such as steel. When there are two vanes they may be integrated with a diametral member 17.
